Mill Bay is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, 41 kilometres north of Victoria. Mill Bay is home to 3,250 permanent residents. 

Mill Bay was established in the 1860’s as a lumber town. It had its own power generating station to service the sawmill. Mill Bay was the logging and lumber hub for the area for many years. Mill Bay is home to BC Ferries' smallest ferry and the oldest ferry route. The Island’s Most Beautiful Shortcut has been operating since 1956. 

There are many parks in the area for biking and hiking. The road to the ferry terminal is a wonderful scenic route to cycle. The warm waters in the Bay make it popular for swimming. Explore the wineries and cideries in the nearby countryside. Or try your skill at one of the many golf courses. For the water lovers there is beachcombing, boating, fishing, kayaking, and sailing. 

There are many services available in Mill Bay. There is a French immersion elementary school and a high school. Mill Bay is home to Brentwood College, a private coed boarding school for high school grades. Brentwood College is one of the top academic schools in British Columbia. There are several churches in the area including one that is housed in the oldest building in Mill Bay. There are also grocery stores, banks, credit unions, gas stations, liquor stores, doctors, dentists, and a number of restaurants. Any additional services can be obtained in Duncan or Victoria, both of which are equal distances from Mill Bay.
