Bowser

" We should all exercise our gift to build community. "

Jean Vanier

On the east coast of Vancouver Island, in an area locally known as Lighthouse Country, is the seaside community of Bowser. This small rural village is home to 1,600 permanent residents and was named after William John Bowser, Premier of British Columbia from 1915-1916.

Bowser is known for its beautiful beaches and clean water, making it a popular destination for clam diggers. There are parks nearby for enjoyable day hikes and caves for the spelunkers. Or how about a swim in the warm waters of Horne Lake or Spider Lake. There are golf courses in nearby communities. And as always with our beautiful West Coast, there are plenty of places to go boating, fishing, or kayaking.

Bowser has an elementary school providing kindergarten through grade five and two churches. There are basic services including an artisan gift shop, coffee shop, credit union, feed store, gas station, liquor outlet, service garage, small grocery store, and building supplies. Bowser also has a pizza shop, restaurant, and pub. Within 45 minutes or less are all the additional businesses and services you might require.
