Black Creek

" Being involved in the well-being and advancement of one's own community is a most natural thing to do. "

Clarence Clemons

Black Creek is the northern most farming community of the Comox Valley, centrally located between Courtenay and Campbell River. As you drive through this beautiful area dotted with ranches, working farms, wineries, and hobby farms, it is hard to imagine that the rolling farmland was once covered by the largest Douglas fir trees in the world.

Several logging camps situated throughout Black Creek were eventually replaced by Mennonite immigrant farmers. The strong work ethic they brought with them is still evident today. Black Creek is primarily a close knit but quite diverse farming community of 8,300 where you can find anything from bison ranches to wineries.

Black Creek is home to many well known beaches and parks including Miracle Beach, Saratoga Beach and nearby is Seal Bay Park. There are several golf courses to choose from. And for those looking for something a little faster paced there is Saratoga Speedway, a fixture in Black Creek for more than 30 years and known as one of the finest tracks in the province.  Or launch your boat and try your luck with the salmon that the ocean currents bring close to shore.

Black Creek has an elementary school providing kindergarten through grade 7, several churches, and the closest medical clinic is in nearby Oyster River or there are several options in Campbell River and Courtenay. Services include small grocery stores, convenience stores, gas station, building supplies, feed store, garden centres, liquor outlet, pubs, restaurants, marinas, as well as the numerous stops for farm gate sales. A short trip to either Campbell River or Courtenay will provide you with a full range of business and services to meet all your needs.
